Regardless of what transportation means you use to come with to villa Welcome, undoubtedly you will experience a sea journey to island Hvar. When you see Hvar and start to enjoy in its benefits you will know that your journey has paid off.

By Car

Technical help and additional information about conditions on Croatian roads is available from Hrvatski Auto Club (HAK): phone (01) 4640 800 and (01) 4554 433 or www.hak.hr and www.hac.hr. If you take the ferry to Starigrad, you will only need to take the 10 kilometers long road to Vrboska. After disembarking from the ferry, turn left in the direction of Vrboska. If you take the ferry to Sucuraj, continue on the rather challenging road toward Jelsa (55km). Do not enter the town of Jelsa, look on the table Vrboska (3 km from Jelsa).

By ship

Hvar is connected with mainland by boat lines

  • Ferry connection Split – Hvar/Hvar – Split; Daily
  • Ferry connection Split – Stari Grad/Stari Grad – Split; Daily, regularly
  • Ferry connection Drvenik – Sućuraj/Sucuraj – Drvenik; Daily, regularly

In the summer ferry connections with islands are intensified, and there are hydro-boats also. Summer schedule is valid from 31st of May to 28th of September. Hvar is connected through the port in Stari Grad, and also by all-coast ferry connection Rijeka-Zadar-Split-Stari Grad – Korcula – Dubrovnik -Bari (three times a week), and by international fast boat connection Pescara – Stari Grad – Split (daily), and by international ferry connection Ancona – Stari Grad – Split – Korčula (twice a week). Jadrolinija is the main boat operator and has all main ferry and boat lines in Croatia. Information on boat schedules and ticket prices can be found on www.jadrolinija.hr. By Bus

Croatia is well connected by scheduled international coach services with Slovenia, Austria, France, Italy, Hungary, Germany, Slovak Republic and other European countries. By Train

Every bigger town in Croatia is connected by train, except Dubrovnik. Croatia has direct connection with Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Serbia, Monte Negro, and indirect connections with almost all European countries. The closest train station to Hvar is in Split (www.hznet.hr). This station is right next to the bus station and ferry port.
